British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Fatal Road Accident
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, local government spokespeople confirmed on late Wednesday. The fighter was involved in a car accident near Lagos on the 29th of December, a tragic incident that resulted in the deaths of two of his close associates.
Healing from Light Wounds
Joshua had remained in the hospital while healing from his light wounds, his management team stated earlier on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on X that Joshua was declared medically stable to continue his recovery at home.
“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two friends who passed away as they were being readied to be sent home,” the official remarked.
Remembering the Victims
Those who lost their lives were identified as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. Omotoso added that the champion was filled with sorrow and full of emotions over the tragic loss of his two close friends.”
This update on his health comes as the boxing community offered its support for the champion in the wake of the terrible crash.
