Indianapolis Colts Battle Falcons in Berlin – Week 10 NFL Action

Hello, football fans. Wie gehts? Everything good I hope on this excellent early start to week 10 coming straight outta Germany. Berlin's Olympic Stadium to be exact where at 8.30am CST/9.30am EST and 2.30pm GMT the powerful Colts (7-2) take on the Falcons (3-5). This marks the fifth matchup played on soil in Germany and the initial in the capital city.

Pregame Key Moments

When it comes to glittering attire that is an real standout from Katarina Witt on the coin toss. A slight fluff from the broadcast team there as we hear “who won the toss?” from the presenter with an accidentally live microphone.

Well, the Colts have won the toss and have chosen to get the ball first. The Colts' offense will be setting up shortly. Will the QB bounce back after a rough one in Pittsburgh?

Not to be outdone the singer belting out the US national anthem has some of the largest shoulder pads you are ever likely to see. Loving the sartorial choices today. We are almost underway after a choir performance for the German anthem. Elegant.

Opening Period Gameplay

Colts 0-0 Falcons 13:30, 1st quarter

And we're off! And we have early drama after the Colts running back catches a screen pass, sweeps out for 15 yards to the right then loses the ball … only for his offensive lineman to save his bacon with the ball retrieval. Indianapolis quickly moves into Atlanta's half.

Colts 0-0 Falcons 10:51, 1st quarter

And the excitement continues as the Indianapolis attempts a fourth-down conversion. The gamble fails to pay off as Josh Downs fails to catch a quick pass from Jones. Prior to the failed attempt Jessie Bates put a massive tackle on tight end Mo Alie-Cox. Atlanta's defense started strong as they attempt to end their three-game losing streak. Next up Sauce Garner’s debut!

Score Updates

First score: Colts lead 6-0 at 8:36

Did Kyle Pitts just drop a touchdown? The Falcons player makes a crucial error, he was very open but the ball just slips through his grasp. That play rather sums up the high draft pick's professional journey to date.

A disappointing start but it only deteriorates for the Atlanta as they cough the ball back to the Colts on the 23-yard line. The Falcons quarterback is sacked and can’t keep hold of the ball.

A nifty 22-yard run from Ashton Dulin sets Jonathan Taylor up to roll in for the score on the following play. Kicker Michael Badgley skews the extra point wide. Mistake.

Falcons respond: 6-7 at 6:07

Penix Jr puts the fumble behind him by marching his Falcons down the field for a touchdown. The wide receiver makes some substantial catches to put them in the red zone then the defense opens up for the running back to saunter on to the goal line through the middle of the defense for 13 yards. The running back finishes it off for a short scoring run of his own. The Falcons take the lead.

Additional Week 10 Matchups

Additionally, the jumbo package starting at 1 PM EST and 6 PM GMT (with home teams first) is as follows:

  • (5-4) Carolina Panthers v Saints (1-8)

  • (5-3) Chicago Bears v New York Giants (2-7)

  • (3-5) Houston Texans v Jaguars (5-3)

  • (2-7) Dolphins v Buffalo Bills (6-2)

  • (4-4) Vikings v Baltimore Ravens (3-5)

  • (1-7) New York Jets v Cleveland Browns (2-6)

  • (6-2) Tampa Bay Buccaneers v Patriots (7-2)

An exciting lineup. My pick for the best game is Minnesota and Baltimore playing out the top contest of the day.
