Iranian Forces State Assault on US Base in Bahrain, During Regional Military Operations.

Plumes of black smoke were seen rising above an site adjacent to the central command of the American Fifth Fleet.

Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Bahrain, as Iran launched operations throughout the Middle East in response for a "massive" and ongoing attack against it by the US and Israel.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone near the main base of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The scope of any damage is not yet known and the American officials has not commented.

Airspace Engagements

Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait - all home to US military bases - reported they have engaged and destroyed incoming projectiles in their airspace.

In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry said it had intercepted a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the region.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was striking American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the attack on Iran launched by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.

That US-Israeli operation - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on locations associated with the the regime, with US President Donald Trump urging the Iranian people to rise up against the government.

Regional Fallout

In Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israeli military stated it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates said in a statement that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems dealt with the projectiles with great effectiveness and shot down a several projectiles," the statement continued.

Officials reported wreckage fell on a residential area in Abu Dhabi, causing some property damage and killing a civilian.

The United States Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
