Plane Transporting US Defense Secretary Required to Land in UK Due to Crack in Cockpit Window
An aircraft ferrying Pete Hegseth was forced to make an unplanned landing in the UK on Wednesday following a fracture was discovered in the plane's windshield, as stated by an official statement which verified that all passengers were secure.
"The jet touched down in accordance with standard procedures and all individuals on the flight, including Defense Secretary Hegseth, is safe," a press officer said in a online announcement.
He was traveling back from a short visit to the city of Brussels at the time.
This event does not mark the first occasion that a United States armed forces jet carrying a senior official has suffered technical problems.
Earlier this year, a US Air Force plane carrying the US Secretary of State to Munich was compelled to head back to the US capital after experiencing a mechanical fault.
